Over the last 4months I have been having awful sleep paralysis & been getting hypersomnia. It is quite terrifying having a sleep paralysis episode. I thought it was a side effect of medication I was on but after coming off that particular med I am still having the episodes. I like you am also at the 8year mark. I am able (sometimes) to see my dr & I hope to ask for a sleep study if this continues. I wonder if you are taking any meds that would contribute to the paralysis? I was on amitriptyline 10mg which can cause it. But as I said I'm still getting without taking the meds. It is indeed scary & frightening but it doesn't mean that you are going backwards, maybe a gentle warning that you have been overdoing things or because our sleep patterns are all over the place anyway it's not surprising to find sleep issues arising. I really hope you can get your dr/support sorted out, I don't know your history with this but you need that help. I really hope that you can stay as positive as possible with all of this, try not to worry that this means you are returning to a bad severe phase, I know easier said than done! I wish u all the best XAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-827037574571244529.post-35387032512969481052012-07-24T11:34:04.845-07:002012-07-24T11:34:04.845-07:00You have my prayers. I'll be sending good energy your way, you rest as much as you can, and I'll be thinking good thoughts about your doctor working out!

I'm not super good at doing this myself, but I do find that when I actually take the time to meditate and/or do super gentle, relaxing yoga (the kind that focuses on relaxation and gentle stretching) it really does improve my mental outlook. Even though I know that, I'm not that great at *doing* it all the time, but I thought I'd mention it.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers!Sarah Allegrahttp://sarahallegra.comnoreply@blogger.com
